Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church

     The original structure has changed little over the last 120 years except for the new siding, a roof and some rooms in the back.  Located at 7500 South Carolina Beach Road, in the community of Seabreeze, it was moved back to accommodate the widening of Hwy 421 to four lanes.

     There are approximately 50 members from the families of Freeman, Mitchell, Wade, Davis and McQuillan.  Membership through the years has been predominately black.  

     The Church’s mission is to spread the good news of the Christian faith.  They cater to all people and nations; they support foreign missions and missionary out reach groups, and they baptize by submersion (usually in the Cape Fear River located just down the street).
