Loggerhead Turtles
(Endangered Species)
My interest in turtles started in the spring of 2003. My husband and I became involved with the volunteer program, through the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue & Rehabilitation Center, to protect and monitor sea turtle nests. One day a week during the months of May thru August we walked a mile at Top Sail Beach, NC, searching for Turtle nests. Eight nests were found in our one mile stretch.
Each nest contains about 120 eggs.
About 1 in 1000 survive to maturity.
In the spring of 2004 we joined the Pleasure Island Sea Turtle Project
at Carolina Beach. It's closer to where we live.

What is a Giclee print?
Giclee (pronounced zhee-clay) n. from the French meaning "spray of ink." A
image or painting is scanned or photographed digitally, then printed using a high
resolution inkjet printer with archival quality inks, printed on various substrates.
The giclee process provides better color accuracy than other means of
reproduction. This new fine art printing technology, developed about 10 years
ago, has taken the art world by storm. It is now widely accepted practice in the
world of art.
